But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. 1 Th 5:8-10
Stan Mathay
Stan Mathay is a lifelong committed brother who lives in our house in Ann Arbor. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and also has a Master Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University. He has been a teacher most of his adult life, and has taught in elementary, high school, and college levels. He currently teaches College Physics at the community college in Ann Arbor, and serves with Grandly, a ministry founded by Mike Shaughnessy that equips and encourages grandparents to be strategic in sharing their faith and values with their grandchildren. Stan also spends about one day a week helping to care for his elderly parents who live in a retirement center about a half hour from his house.
