A few weeks ago, two brothers made their Lifelong Commitments to the Servants of the Word, which is always a great blessing and joy!

Salvador "Chava" Martinez

Salvador Martínez Brambila was born in Monterrey, Mexico in 1993, into a deeply faith-filled family, and is the youngest of five siblings. Even before his birth, his parents were part of the Jésed community, so he grew up immersed in it, participating in its children’s and youth programs.

For over 10 years, he served in the Youth Mission program, focused on the community kids program. He later became a missionary in the “Brecha” program in Costa Rica. During his formation process with the Servants in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he was also actively involved for two years serving in University Christian Outreach (UCO).

He currently serves in the Missionary Catholic University (MCU), working to bring the Gospel to more college students. He is the director of a local chapter and serves as the regional director of MCU for Mexico. In addition, he is the director of the fundraising office that supports youth ministry efforts in Monterrey and across Mexico.

He holds a degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Organizational Development.

Joseph Uy

Joseph Uy is the youngest of nine, born in Quezon City, Philippines, in 1996 to parents who are members of the local Sword of the Spirit community, Ang Ligaya ng Panginoon. He holds an undergraduate degree in Statistics from the University of the Philippines Diliman, where he had an encounter with God through the university outreach of Ligaya, Christ’s Youth in Action (CYA). He later became a missionary in CYA and an affiliate of the Servants of the Word in early 2018, serving the university outreach in his alma mater.

He made his lifelong commitment in 2026 and is currently responsible for the finances of the Servants of the Word in the Philippines while also serving in the campuses in Manila through CYA.

Chava and Joseph made their lifelong commitment this past April 19, 2026 in Michigan. We are glad they are now part of us and we pray that many other Mexicans and Filipinos will follow in their footsteps.
