This database serves as a public resource to provide transparency regarding Servants of the Word historical safeguarding cases and their status.
We want to express our heartfelt sorrow for the harm caused to children and families. We repent and ask forgiveness of the victim-survivors, their families, and our communities for any wrongful actions of our brothers and for the mistakes and errors in judgment we made in responding to these matters.

James Treadwell
Commitment with the Servants of the Word was terminated in December 2019.
On April 13, 2022, James Treadwell, entered a plea of no contest to one count of attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct 2nd degree was sentenced in the State of Michigan to 18 months of probation, 14 days of jail time, and was required to register as a public sex offender in the State of Michigan based on his interactions with minors.
Edward Conlin
Commitment with the Servants of the Word was terminated in May 2023.
In the 1990s, Edward Conlin had sexual interactions with minors, which led to his dismissal from the service organization he worked for. At that time, he was transferred from his assignment and placed on a Safety Plan.
In March 2023 an allegation of sexual abuse was raised against Edward Conlin, who denied the allegation. This allegation was referred to the appropriate authorities and they ultimately chose not to pursue the matter. It was thus never established and so this case has been dismissed and is no longer active.
Jose Vasquez
Jose Vasquez remains under a Safety Plan, and continues to be supervised by the Servants of the Word and community leaders in accordance with that plan.
