Safeguarding
Recently the brothers from Asia, Latin America and North America followed a 2.5 hour session of training in Child Protection put on by Praesidium https://www.praesidiuminc.com/ . Our Child Protection Team meets once a month, and we continue to strengthen our safeguards and other measures.
Ecumenism
In March our UK brother Andy Pettman participated in Sydney in a meeting of the International Partnership of Ecumenical Charismatic Communities in https://swordofthespirit.net/ipecc-service-team-got-together-in-sydney/.
Leadership Forum
In early May, 37 brothers will gather in Maryville, Michigan for three days of Leadership Forum, to discuss the future direction and various issues concerning the Servants of the Word.
Commitments
On 3 May, our Lebanese brother Serge Saadeh will make his Lifelong Commitment in Michigan. At the same occasion, Marco Madrigal and Gustavo Endara will each make their Full Commitment. Later this year Joseph Uy, Ryan Morales, Daniel Dunkl, Chava Martínez, David Huitrón, and Nate Stoll will renew their commitments at regional events.
Pittsburgh
After a year in Pittsburgh, our brothers Malaquías García, Will Cannon, and Martin Steinbereithner will stay for another year, serving the community and the university outreach in that city.
Maryland
Later this summer, Dave Quintana, John Yocum, Mike Shaughnessy, and Bruce Franson will move to Maryland to open a new household and to be part of the “Triumph of the Cross” Sword of the Spirit community.
