John Yocum spoke to the North American brothers at our October 8th Lord’s Day Opening on humility, wisdom, and even “Driving Miss Daisy.” His talk is based on Matthew 18:1-5 (ESV):

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me.

John is a lifelong committed brother from Jackson, Michigan. After having spent 15 years in the UK and 7 years in the Philippines, he returned to the US in 2011. John has degrees in History and Philosophy and a Doctorate in Theology from The University of Oxford. He has taught Theology at Oxford, at Loyola School of Theology in Manila and at the Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit, Michigan.
