About Us
Who are the Servants of the Word?
Forty years ago, a group of men received a call from God: to put aside marriage and family for the sake of the kingdom of God. Responding to this call, The Servants of the Word was born! Today we have over forty brothers living and serving in ten households around the world, with many other men in various stages of formation in our life. Many of us make a life-long commitment to remain single for the Lord, and to live in community with other brothers in our brotherhood.
Why do we do it? Because of God's grace in our lives! We have experienced the mercy and love of God, and we want to give everything to him in return. We've experienced the personal call from Jesus Christ to leave all and follow him, and The Servants of the Word is our attempt to do just that!
In addition, we want to work with the Lord, and other Christians and see "his kingdom come" and "his will be done," "on earth, as it is in heaven." Starting with ourselves, and then with all who will hear, we want to see the whole world give him the glory that is his due!
